Hi, if You wish simply play with friends, go to place where BICS server is hosted. On BICS You can play even whole family from same PC, or whole chess club, no limitations, no restrictions. Compared to other servers this is opened really to everybody. Its actually only chess server (if we dont count DoubleChessBoard) where You can play also slower bughouse chess ( using bronstein time control ) to training for Czech Open 2014.
Here is step by step help how You can connect using client interface like Thief, Winboard/Xboard, Raptor.
Right now BICS server is hosted on AlexBug.Com.
Czech Open group has now own server: czechopen.alexbug.com on port 4000, its for now only for invited (present technical limitation), but feel free ask to be registered SKAcz or any czech player. Its good to arrange a meeting with your friends or with us who plaing on czech open, because server is often empty. SKAcz vision is focused more on team aspect of game, user friendly and for everybody easy to use environment.

Pokud chcete jednoduše začít hrát s přáteli, běžte přímo na místo kde je BICS server hostován. Na BICS nejsou žádná omezení, může hrát klidně celá rodina z jednoho PC, či celý oddíl šachový použít stejné připojení k internetu. Na rozdíl od jiných serverů je tento nejen open source ale i zcela liberální a otevřený všem. Je to momentálně jediný šachový server (pomineme-li DoubleChessBoard), kde si můžete zahrát také pomalejší bughouse šach ( použít časové tempo bronštejn ) a trénovat na Czech Open 2014.

V současnosti je puštěný BICS server na AlexBug.Com.
Skupina Czech Open má nyní vlastní server czechopen.alexbug.com na portu 4000, je nyní pouze pro pozvané (současné technické důvody), ale neváhejte požádat o registraci SKAcz či někoho z českých hráčů. Je dobré si domluvit online setkání s přáteli či s námi kdož hrajeme na czech openu, protože server je často prázdný. SKAcz vize je zaměřena více na týmový aspekt hry, přátelské a pro každého snadno pochopitelné prostředí.

Thanks to Developers of http://chess.samba.org and http://chessd.sourceforge.net who started idea of new free open source telnet chess server.
Thanks to Aramen who raised the torch and together with others made BICS term in bughouse players minds (https://code.google.com/p/bics-chess).
Thanks to Kasprosian together with SKAcz to reborn BICS by analysing, rewriting, testing core time functions and team rating and runned alexbug (https://github.com/mallochine/bics-current).

Working features of this open source internet chess server (BICS2014V1):
- Stable telnet server in C++ running on linux
- Bronstein time control
  =time for move (=delay=bronstein): for bughouse chess only way how to play slower games, but still is game real time
- Thief + BICS + Timeseal : playing, logging games
  Also works Winboard/Xboard + Timeseal (includes AI engines can be connected), Raptor + BICS + Timeseal.
  Team bughouse rating feature added! Now in best B and in fi notes You see not only individual rating but also best team player made (with RD under 80).

- Base server antispam, user whitelist added to only interract with players in "safe zone". Useful for childs accounts. Should be improved a bit more to childs like accounts see only friends in everything if they wish be in total safe and friendly zone.
- Known bugs: very very rare bug that sometimes when lag and player dont react long time is losing game on time. Draw 3x rep. in bughouse dont works well. If You make illegal move, You lose plenty of time. Rating should be different for various time controls. Whitelist dont applied to channels and who lists.
